The Rhyze Award is back for 2016!

If you attended the International Women’s Day conference back in March, or if you follow @therhyzeproject on Twitter, you may have already heard that the Rhyze Award is back for 2016!

In 2015, this incredible program provided more than $20,000 in cash and in-kind services to women-owned businesses in Guelph and Wellington County, and we’re thrilled to see how our Rhyze Award recipients have developed their businesses since receiving funding and business mentorship from Innovation Guelph.

2015 Rhyze Award Pitch Competition winners“Winning the Rhyze Award was a very proud and pivotal moment for us personally and for our business. It was incredible to have the support from our community and to feel the validation of our efforts. The funding came just as we had opened our doors at the juicery on Québec Street, and we needed additional capital to grow. We could not be more grateful.”

Last year was our pilot launch of the program, and with feedback from business leaders, applicants and our finalists, we’ve made changes to improve the award process.

Here’s what’s new for 2016!

This year, our focus is to support women with entrepreneurial spirit who are in the early stages of their developing their business idea, product or service. Here’s what else is new for 2016:

  • Smaller Investments for More Women

We want to assist as many women as possible on their business journey, while supporting a wider range of business initiatives and ideas. If you apply this year, you have chance to receive $750 in cash, mentorship, and priority access to other learning and networking opportunities offered by Innovation Guelph.

  • No Business Plan Required!

We’ve simplified the Rhyze Award application to just 7 questions. We want to hear about your idea, your passion, and why you think a Rhyze Award would help your business grow.

The Rhyze Award is open to women aged 30 or older, who live in Guelph or Wellington County. Check out full eligibility requirements here. And be sure to apply online or in person by May 15!

Know a woman who should hear about this opportunity? Be sure to share this information with her.

Here’s to helping more women-owned businesses take root this year!
