Have a pint, and socialize with other startup enthusiasts. It’s a simple concept and one that’s meant to encourage entrepreneurial spirit in Guelph.

StartupDrinks is just another scoop on the ice cream cone of startup events in Guelph, which continues to grow. The event aims to draw an audience similar to that of Startup Weekend, Startup Royale, DemoCamp and the StartupTrain, amongst others. The so-called ice cream cone is intended to attract and retain young entrepreneurs in the City of Guelph who may otherwise be drawn away by the alluring startup scenes in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo.

The event, which is being organized by team members from the Centre for Business and Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Guelph (CBaSE), Futurpreneur and Innovation Guelph, will be the first of its namesake in the area, but has been hosted in a number of cities in Ontario, including Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Toronto and Barrie.

The event will take place on November 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brass Taps at the University of Guelph. It’s free to attend, you just have to RSVP below.

Whether you’ve started your own business or you’re just passionate about sharing ideas, come out to StartupDrinks for a pint, snacks and some casual networking.
