Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide

Directors, activists and two time Pulitzer Prize winner Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn confront female oppression head on in this moving documentary, filmed in over 10 Countries, Half the Sky tells the story of courageous women across the world. With commentary from celebrity activists such as Meg Ryan and Diane Lane, this documentary details the movement of overcoming female oppression on a global scale.

This film is part of the Imposter Series; presented by Innovation Guelph and the Rhyze Project, in partnership with Miller Thomson and the Bookshelf.

The Imposter Syndrome Film Series connects local women in conversation about women’s issues and rights, confidence and economic empowerment. This movie will be followed by a short presentation and discussion.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Bookshelf or Innovation Guelph. Proceeds from this event will be going to the funding of the Rhyze Award in support of local female entrepreneurs.”
